Partner with Compassion Fayetteville
“Compassion is not an option. It’s the key to our survival.” -Karen Armstrong
Compassion Fayetteville, facilitated by Dian Williams, is an initiative developed from Mayor Lioneld Jordan’s Fayetteville Forward Economic Accountability Council. Twenty volunteers have coordinated their time and talent to bring the project to all citizens of this region.
Mayor Lionel Jordan issued a proclamation January 18, 2014, declaring support for the Compassion Fayetteville initiative. The initiative grew from the guidance of the International Campaign for Compassionate Cities supporting Karen Armstrong, a religious scholar and author, who created the Charter for Compassion. The proclamation achieved a major goal: Fayetteville joined 100+ cities around the world who earned this title.
